I thoroughly enjoyed staying in this fabulous and quiet place. The location was great and stunning for exploring this lovely area, not far from surrounding area, Portsmouth and Chichester from here and both the restaurant and brasserie.

The staff were polite and the hotel was clean.
The front of the hotel looks like an old inn, which is what we were expecting, but behind the facade it is pure 1980s. Dinner was not the best and served in a characterless well lit dining room. NOT a place for a romantic break.

The lovely setting and the wonderfully helpful staff.
The only downside is that we would like to book again for the Goodwood Festival of Speed weekend next year but have been advised that Goodwood are the first in the pecking order & therefore, we may not be lucky enough to secure a room next time.

The service was friendly and efficient without being overbearing. The food was excellent and the gardens beautiful and peaceful.
The decor is a bit old and dated, but comfortable.

The position of the hotel is excellent. Out of a major city, set in a tranquil setting, very much a sailing/boating community. Nice to be on a bus route that gets you through to the city, such as Chichester and ultimately being able to go from there to coastal resorts.Warm, friendly reception staff and nice touch with a glass of wine when booking in. Manager and all staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms and cleanliness thereof excellent, and replenishment of items used overnight, the following morning brilliant. All in all we had a lovely stay.
We ate dinner in the hotel the first night and were booked for 19h00. We felt that we were being pressured and hurried to eat our food to make way for the later sitting which made us uncomfortable. It was sad that the bus service by the hotel does not have a Sunday operation. Air freshners should be provided in the bathrooms, we found the extractors are not adequate. The walls in the bedroom were scuffed and marked and should be washed down.
